English Tudor

1651 Alta Vista Avenue

Constructed in 1926

Architect:  R.A. Uecker Company

Occupying the grandest site in the Highlands, this house closes the vista of Washington Boulevard.  The half-timbered second story is flanked by two steep gables. The vertical elements of the house's design are emphasized by the groups of tall windows and narrow roof dormers.  The air of an English Manor is accentuated by the terracing in the front of the house.
 

Jacobethan Tudor

6300 Washington Circle

Constructed in 1930

Architect:  Fred Howend

The Jacobethan Tudor style of this residence is characterized by parapeted gables. This house was originally built for a member of the Miller brewing family (An "M" is surrounded by hops at the front entry to the residence).
 

English Tudor Revival

6524 Betsy Ross Place

Constructed in 1927

Architect:  R. A. Uecker Company

This house is strongly characterized by the half-timbered twin gables and scalloped eaves.  The doorway is topped by a stone label mold
